The Pet Adoption Fair and Expo is an annual event presented by the White Plains Times. It is a fun and informative day for pet lovers and those seeking to adopt pets. The Expo provides a chance for rescue groups and local animal shelters to find loving homes for pets in their care.
It is a day with lots for pet lovers and owners to see and do. In addition to pets for adoption there are fun and informative activities and exhibits. Previous activities and exhibits have included the Pet Psychic, “Ask the Vet”, “Low Cost Spay and Neuter Info”, Dog Training Seminars and dog agility demonstrations, the Mount Vernon K-9 Police Unit and Westchester’s own Animal cop, Ken Ross. In addition, the daylong event includes many quality vendors with products for pets and their people too. There is a pet photo contest, raffles and lots of free give-a-ways!
This is the only event of its kind in Westchester, NY. Where else can you find over 125 adorable animals looking for homes, be entertained by “freestyle canine dog dancing”, get some helpful tips from trainers and veterinarians and even hear about wildlife rehab work? That is just a small list of the very interesting, entertaining and touching attractions for pet lovers and owners.
The Pet Adoption Fair & Expo is the brain child of "Cat Assistance Inc." and "Pet Adoption League Inc.", two 501(c) 3 Westchester animal adoption agencies that have been rescuing and finding loving homes for dogs and cats for over 25 years. Unlike other Pet Expos all proceeds from the event go directly to benefit homeless animals. This event is unique in that it combines information and products for pet owners, fun and interesting displays about animals, all with the goal of promoting adoption and rescue of homeless pets.
